Luke Amstutz will begin his 5th year as Head Coach, compiling a 26-15 record in his first 4 seasons. Luke is a 2000 graduate of Fort Wayne Carroll and a 2004 graduate of Tri-State University where he was a 1000 point scorer in basketball and graduated with a Degree in Social Studies Education. At Angola he will be teaching World Civilizations, Current Issues, and US History
During college, Luke was a Varsity Assistant football coach at Dekalb where he coached WR's, DB's and Special Teams. After graduation he began teaching at Avilla MS in East Noble's district. He taught 6th grade Social Studies for 4 years at Avilla. During this time Luke was a Varsity Assistant Baseball and Basketball coach for the Knights. He also served the football program in many facets. He was the JV coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, and coached Quarterbacks, Receivers, Safeties and Cornerbacks. Coach Amstutz enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing guitar. He is a diehard Bears and Notre Dame fan. He and his wife Shay and daughters Averi and Alexxa Riley reside in Fort Wayne. Roger Roddy joins the Hornets for his 5th year. Roger is a 1983 graduate of AHS where he was an All State QB in 1982. He then moved onto to play baseball at Georgia Tech where he was apart of 4 straight ACC Champions and 4 straight NCAA Tournament appearances. He graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management. During the day, Roger works for AT&T. He has coached 5 years of Youth baseball and 2 years of youth football. Roger enjoys doing anything sports related and working with kids. He is a Colts fan and a Notre Dame fan. Roger and Lucianna have 2 sons; Jacob and Chance. Coach Roddy will be working with Receivers and Cornerbacks and calling offense for the JV. |
Todd Herndon will return to the Hornets for his 4th year. He is a graduate of Fremont High School and Tri-State University. Todd coached for several seasons at Fremont, and was formerly the Head Softball Coach at Angola. Todd, his wife Shelly, and son Beau reside in Angola. Coach Herndon will be the Special Teams Coordinator this season, along with his duties coaching the defensive line. |
Russ Tingley will return to the Hornets for his 3rd year. He is a 1984 graduate of Westerville South High School in Ohio, where he later coached defensive ends, including two Division 1 All Americans, Andy Katzemoyer, and Keyjana Carter. Russ has coached wrestling at the Middle School and High School levels for over 20 years. He is presently the Head Wrestling Coach at Angola Middle School. Russ is currently studying to become a teacher. He is an avid Ohio State fan, which I know sickens most people here, but trust me, he is a good guy. He and his wife Christy have two sons, Grant and Brock and reside in Angola. Coach Tingley is the Offensive Line coach. |
Lee McGuiggan joins the Hornet staff for his 5th season. Lee is a graduate of Lakeland HS and IPFW. During the day he is a shop supervisor at Larry's Canvas Shop in Lagrange. His wife Bridgette, son Keegan, and daughter Lauren reside in Lagrange. Lee is a fan of the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Georgia Bulldogs. Lee will be coaching LB's and calling freshmen defense. |
